To Eat

SOET in Durbanville. Its a really quaint restaurant, the prices are very reasonable and they have a kiddies play section as well. Really awesome if you want to meet a friend for coffee (if you both have kids with you) and grab something to eat. They do freshly bakedd goods as well. - Samantha @@@

I found a great new place called Cosecha Restaurant at Noble Hills Wine Farm on the Simondium Road. Great for breakfast, lunch or just tea. Their tables are outside under trees and umbrellas and there is enough space and interest for busy toddlers, from big grassy areas, to a water fountain and jungle gym. They also have great nappy changing facilities in the bathroom for babies, a kiddies menu, and beautiful nature and peaceful atmosphere for you! www.cosecharestaurant.com or 0218743844. - Helena @@@

Michelle, PE@@@

In Port Elizabeth we have some lovely child friendly places - our fav is African Skies - second on the list has to be the PINK FIG and then we have Garden Lovers and Windsors Play park - all of them cater for mommy's and their babies - toddlers have a jol there! There are child friendly menu's with things they actually can eat!!! –Zelda, PE @@@

This isn’t my favourite place yet because Ethan is still too small, but it will be when he is big enough to play outside. Just on the turnoff toward Stellenbosch is a deli/ restaurant call ‘Klein Joostenberg’. It is next to a nursery. It’s a lovely place with lots of grass and trees. It’s a firm favorite with many mother’s because outside the restaurant is a huge green lawn and play park with lots of jungle gyms and things to climb. What’s better is they serve bottomless coffee there. You will always find mom’s sipping their coffee under the trees, watching their children play happily in the garden. Raqual, CT @@@

Ooh, love the following venues for kids and parents alike: Nitida breakfast or lunch on a Sunday. Slip and slide out on sunny days, big lawn to play, lovely food at a good price and umbrellas to keep you cool! Bob, the host, is a treat on his own! Also Meerendal Wine estate is great for Breakfast at the Bistro and Lunch at the Barn & Lawn. Big lawn....need I say more? Eaglevlei has the largest jungle gym in the Western Cape...and lovely stoep...one late Sunday afternoon the staff even joined our boys at a game of cricket! Joostenberg is on the way to Stellenbosch...lovely deli for mommies to browse, food amazing, big lawn plenty of swings, jungle gyms etc. It even has a pond with ducks to take a stroll with a toddler. All the above has plenty of healthy outside play on offer for the kids AND us grown-ups can have a lovely breakfast/lunch in a Wine estate setting - not a crummy dark restaurant with only a jumping castle and bad food...... – Sanlie, CT @@@
